We sailed from Venice to Barcelona on the Summit last year and checked out the drinks packages. We were told that they were valid for all the restaurants on board except the Normandie. Is this still the case with Celebrity?

Apologies if I've caused confusion - my summary was not a limit, just an indication of what you'd need to get through every day to end up ahead.
I know you cannot have wine by the bottle as part of the package but I've read elsewhere that the selection by the glass is fairly good and extensive.
There is not (as far as I can tell) any limit on the number of drinks you can have once you've bought the package, the only limit is that some premium wines, cocktails and spirits are excluded - based on their price per drink. I've also read elsewhere concern over staff being prepared to keep you topped up as the 15% does not rack up on the drinks they provide you with under the package, but this has only been an isolated comment so I wait with interest to see what other readers experiences have been.
One other thing I omitted from my sums was the "daily special" - when we were on board they were doing 2 Corona beers for $5 for a specific range of hours - so there are ways of reducing the bill.
Hope this helps
David

Hello all. I am booked on the Eclipse later this year with my mum (Rock and roll!).
I have been looking at the drinks packages and it looks like you need to drink a fair amount to make it worth it, although this is not possible to work out as the price per drink or bottle does not appear to be advertised on their website. (I found a link on here for the per glass menu - thanks guys! Is a wine price list available anywhere?)
There are a couple of things I have been trying to work out that might effect my decision, maybe you guys can point me in the right direction:
1 The fountain soda package - are soft drinks charged for without the package? If not what is the point of the package?
2 I am aware I can bring on a bottle of wine - does anyone know if there is a corkage charge if I wanted to take this into a restaurant?
3 Are there any circumstances I can buy wine in a shop on board and consume it on board? Again - if so is there a corkage fee?
I know (and am getting round to accepting!) that drinks will be expensive but I am just trying to work out what will work best for me.
Thanks in advance
Drinks Package: Work on about 5 drinks a day for the win/break even point
1) I'm struggling to understand your meaning, but here goes. The soda package covers unlimited Coke and Sprite.
Mixers are not charged for so you don't need a package for whiskey & coke for instance.
Cloudy lemonade is freely available most of the day from the dispensers in the self service restaurant and on deck.
2) Corkage charge from memory is $25
3) No, all drinks purchased in the shop will be delivered to your cabin on last night of cruise.

Thanks Wilba. That helps. Cloudy lemonade sounds good to me!
I find all these packages very confusing! If you don't drink much, are they worth it. Husband and I only like a couple of glasses of wine with dinner, he occasionally has a Port after and very occasionally I'll have a G&T before. Would it be worth it? I wonder. When we last cruised, one bottle of wine at dinner lasted us two/three nights - can you do this on Celebrity - ask them to keep it for you till the next day?
If you don't drink much I would forget it. Drink more than 5 a day and you're on a winner, much less and you're probably not.
Celebrity will keep your wine as per most cruise ships, but please let me know your secret.
I have a job to make a bottle last to the next course, never mind the next day.
Wilba
To answer the question re wine taken on board - they will indeed charge a hefty corkage if you want to drink it anywhere outside your cabin.
Secret is that anymore than a couple of glasses of wine and I feel rough and don't sleep!!! Must be my age - last cruise (10 years ago) and this was not a problem! Will wait and see what the cost is as on looking at Celebrity website, the booze package for our cruise next June will be out in May.
I take it then, that you can only have 1 glass of wine each at dinner with the package? Is this right?
