QUOTE:
Celebrity Constellation passengers on the ship's current sailing could be experiencing more than just the line's token "Solsticised" updates.
The ship which left Amsterdam on May 28th is seeing an increasing number of Norovirus cases.
The latest information from Celebrity representatives says that 164 guests and 29 crewmembers have been ill during the voyage; when numbers reach 10 percent of the ship's total passenger count, the line is required to report the outbreak to the U.S. Center for Disease Control.
Celebrity spokeswoman Cynthia Martinez says that boarding for the ship's next sailing, a 12-night Scandinavia and Russia sailing from Amsterdam on June 9, will be delayed to allow time for thorough cleaning and sanitizing. But, there has been no word yet regarding how long the delay will be or what sort of compensation might be offered to affected passengers.
This incident comes less than three months after Celebrity Mercury was plauged by a nearly unprecedented number of outbreaks.
