tipping
I know it's an old topic but I just need some advice on it.
I've just booked a cruise on Eclipse for next year. The price quoted included tips so I asked for them to be removed as I thought £97 for a six year old child was a bit excessive.
We have saved almost £300 by doing this.
Now the grey area.
Will the cruiseline now add tips to our onboard account and if so how much?
Also can you choose to remove them while onboard in order to tip at your own discretion.
Hope I don't sound tight. I don't mind tipping well for my wife and myself but feel a small child shouldn't be charged the full amount.

They will automatically add them part way through the cruise at the suggested amount, with a letter of advice delivered to your cabin. You can of course permit the suggested amount go through for yourself and wife and modify the amount for your child as you see fit.

Just to add to Wilba's comment...you can ask for the automatically added tips to be removed whilst on board and pay as you see fit....our table companions did just this on our recent Eclipse cruise....

You could have left your own grats as pre paid and just removed the prepayment on your childs. You dont have to prepay for everyone unless you want the Select (Anytime) dining option.
