As with many cruise lines, Cunard operate a loyalty scheme for regular, and even not so regular, passengers. Also similarly Cunard's Loyalty Scheme, The Cunard World Club, offers a number of benefits which accrue in value with the number of sailings a passenger undertakes. Cunard also enhance their loyalty scheme with the regular issue of a magazine exclusively for members, The Cunarder.
One attraction of Cunard's scheme is an additional Cocktail Party on cruises/voyages of 6 days or more, for those passengers who qualify by membership. It is a regular feature at these parties for the Captain to both acknowledge and recognise a number of the passengers attending who have pretty impressive sailing records.
Having recently received my copy of the magazine, I thought I would share one particular page with forum members. It is the page where Cunard highlight one or two of those who have achieved recognition for their loyalty on recent cruises.
Though I have in the past witnessed passengers receiving this reconition with longer cruising records, in this recent issue those who did receive acknowledgement still have impressive records: particularly when you calculate that the average days on board compared with the number of cruises taken is in the region of 37 days. None of your 7 day fly-cruise there then: for some, cruising is definitely a different experience.
Having got the picture correct and resized the space does not allow the text to be easily read. In summary, the couple in the top picture have done 49 voyages (totalling 1795 days) and the couple in the middle picture 13 voyages totalling 461 days.
