N C L Jade
Was going to book a cruisie with NCL Jade. until i started to read the small print. Service Charge & Gratuities Quote NCL Automatically Adds A US $12 discretionary service charge ,per guest per day for guests 3 years and older,to your shipboard account for all staterooms.
If guests choose to pay this charge it will be shared among those
Staff members ,including the resaurant staff, stateroom stewards and other behind-scenes Staff.
This to me was totally over the top has anybody else
come across this charge.

Yes, this is because all cruise lines pay virtually no wages to their crew!
NCL also have more optional extra 'surcharges' on board, such as various dining choices, than some other cruise lines. However sometimes NCL's opening fare is more attractive!
