Norwegian Epic to have First ever At Sea Rappelling Wall

New to Norwegian Epic the first ever rappelling wall at sea, a 64-foot wide extreme rock climbing wall, the most bowling lanes at sea with six in two venues; a mixed-use sports deck with the ability for guests to engage in eight different athletic activities; as well as three separate kids’ and teen activity areas.?

In addition, Norwegian Epic will offer the next generation of Freestyle Dining with 21 dining choices and 20 bars and lounges. The ship also boasts unique nightlife options with the first Ice Bar at sea and Spice H20 with non-stop entertainment day and night; an expansive Aqua Park with the only tube slide and largest bowl slide at sea -- The Epic Plunge

Would you actually use all of these facilities or do you think they are a gimmick to make NCL "Stand out" from the crowd?

It looks like its for people that don't cruise. As a OAP most of this would not make me use this ship. The young set with children and sports orientated, it would suit them down to the ground. I might take a mini cruise just to see what all the hype is about but not on a long cruise.

    Edna,

I'm younger and have two children but NCL don't appeal to me. The whole thing seems to be geared up to seperate me from my hard earned cash & with the children with me it would happen sooner rather than later ~ give me a comfortable ship with exciting itineraries and a decent casino & I'm happy. The children are quite content with a pool and decent activities.

We did think about it, but there are too few ports in the Caribbean. Perhaps when she comes to Barcelona next year. As the CNBC programme pointed out, these ships are all about making money on board, so the more gimmicky, the more different types of cruisers will be attracted, and the more money spent. That programme also showed the targets that crew had to get on each cruise, so a few goes on the bowling alleys and a few pay-restaurants with some pricey wine helps towards their targets.

    Oh Edna, I'm so disappointed:
I thought we might have done a race to the top, together. :D

I here I was, hoping we might have had a game of basketball before, to warm up!

At least with that wall thingy you can practice escaping from the ship down a rope rather than flinging yourself into the concrete sea like on Titanic last night.

These monsters are getting so much like theme parks methinks why not just go to theme park, its cheaper and the kids will love it.
