Sea Princess Cruise Carribbean 21 March 2011

I've just booked to go on this cruise flying from Glasgow, would appreciate any feed back from anyone who is/have been on this ship for any information they think would be of interest to us. This is our first cruise and we don't know what to expect etc. I have also found out that our baggage allowance on the flight will be 23 kgs (this doesn't seem a lot), are there any Scots out there who have taken full kilt outfits with them with this luggage allowance and what to pack where?
Also the cost of any drinks packages that might be of interest, I tend to drink lots of water during the day (can drink up to 2 litres + a day), OH likes diet coke, as well as alcohol........Lol

    Thanks for any help

    Tex

We will be on this cruise in Feb 2010, so will be able to tell you a little about it, but 12 months on they might make some changes. How come you found out so early your flight allowance, we've only just found out for ours next Feb.

me too! See you on board.

We are going in this cruise too. It will be our 7th cruise and 3rd with Princess, 2nd on the ship. The luggage allowance never does seem much but its surprising how it can easily be done, at least the weather will be good so only light clothes needed and at night the men do not have to wear jackets or ties (except formal nights) Laundry room on every floor plus they do a cleaning service and very often do specials on the front of the daily platter like fill an back for $5. Iced water is available free all day and you can purchase soft drinks packages on the first couple of days. The soft drinks are the carbonated syrup drinks out of the gun not cans or the real mackoy unfortunately. Princess was my 1st cruise line and after trying Celebrity, P&O,Cunard it is still my favorite........I cant wait to get back on board. You will enjoy..might bump into you!

Thanks for info Penny, might bump into you somewhere on the ship as you say.

I got travel agent to find out baggage allowance before I booked it, cos I wanted to pay for extra allowance and have been told this is not possible. He thought it was 20kgs, but he checked it with cruise line and they told him it would be 23kgs cos it's a chartered flight, and all chartered flights are 23 kgs. (Scheduled flights are different). Hope you enjoy yourself in Feb Deefitz and bring good reports and any photos back from the ship.

    Thanks for info.

    Hi,
We go in two weeks!!!! Will let you know how we manage to get our clothes into the 23kg. allowance. However, I am now convincing hubby that he won't need too much which will allow for mine - will lead to a happier holiday anyway. We ladies are always happier if we have everything we need.

Just remember you can also carry 1 Bag onto the plane, fill this up with shoes, all your electrical stuff, cosmetics. Take your bathroom stuff that when you finish your cuise you can leave there,,, We have just returned and the airports are now red hot on weight, and they do charge if overweight.. Not like the old days where they used to let you off with a few kilos over

We've encountered this last year on holiday in Tenerife(charging for being overweight, but they seem to allow it on the way out, cos our cases did not have so much stuff in them on the way home..... no toiletries etc), which is why I wanted to know about baggage allowance. I am required to take medical equipment (CPAP machine)with me which I have to take on board as hand luggage, so I am penalised regarding my hand luggage, cos this is counted as being my hand luggage, which I have always thought unfair. My TA thought I would be ok with it but when he's checked it with tour operator, this has been confirmed that this is my hand luggage.
