    Sea Princess

Can anyone tell me if the sockets in the cabins on Sea Princess are English or American?
    I keep reading conflicting reports.

Also are the hair dryers any good or should I bring my own?

    Thank you

We were on the Grand Princess and that had american sockets only, I taken this from the Sea Princess website.

Each stateroom has other luxuries for your convenience, such as a private safe and refrigerator. In addition, each room is equipped with a 110-volt, 60-cycle alternating current (AC) with standard U.S. plug fittings. Please ask your stateroom steward to check your appliances for suitability before use if you have any questions. All ships are equipped with an electric hair dryer in every stateroom.

I read that too but it still isn't really clear, as I'm sure I've read somewhere that Sea Princess has English sockets and I don't want to be carrying unnecessary weight when we are limited.
What I really wanted to know about the hair dryers are they powerful enough for me to blow dry my hair?

English sockets and the hair dryers are okay. (was an English ship - belonged to P&O). Recently returned and had a great holiday. You have to ask for bathrobes / bowls of fruit in your cabin - but no problem getting them. Towels for the pool are provided each evening in your room ready for the following day. Great service. Simply ask for whatever you want. eg. my husband asked for ice-cream each evening adding to his dessert - no problem. Others on our table asked for extra vegetables/chips (even if they were not being served)

Thanks for the reply, good to know I don't need American adapters and my own hair dryer, now I can take more clothes

Looking forward to our first cruise, getting excited now.

Oh, enjoy! It's lovely when someone's so excited about their 1st cruise.
She was our 1st, too, and will always be special. My sister's on her right now-lives next to Doncaster airport, so no probs there.....I keep thinking:"Wonder if she's used that lovely library?....Have they had breakfast outside the Horizon?"
    Pathetic, really.
    Enjoy!

Hi again, just a few more thoughts. There are washing machines/irons on each deck - husband can take less shirts and wash them!!!! Take american dollars with you - each cabin has a safe. There is no ATM on the ship and the island ATM machines give their local currency. Friends needed cash and so they only took out of the ATM what they needed for that island. Going into banks was a real hassle as they needed their passports. We photocopied our passports and laminated them - so didn't have to carry our original ones around with us. Les me know if there is anything else you need to know. Wish I was you!

Another question, on my flight ticket info it says hand luggage size must not exceed 43x28x23, this is a small rucksack. I usually have a small case on wheels that's been allowed on all flights even Ryanair.
We are flying with Thomsonfly through Princess and on Thomson site the size is a lot larger than my information, Thomas Cook site is the same size as my information. Does anyone know if they are strict with hand luggage size? Also do you think they made a mistake on sizes giving TC sizes instead of Thomsonfly?

We had the same problem and did not take our usual flight bag on wheels - which we have used on all other flights. However, there were people on our Thomas Cook flight with small suitcases!, large bags, etc. No one asked to check our bags for either size or weight. On the return everything goes straight to the plane so no weighing of checked in luggage. Must admit Thomas Cook/Princess were great - a number of check ins open so no long queues, etc. and we had a great flight with free drinks - food was okay. Enjoy your holiday
