My family is considering the Ruby Princess for a Europe cruise in 2011. I'm looking forward to your review of the ship!

    Hi Scarlett3,
The Ruby is fantastic. We had a fabulous time aboard her to the Caribbean. So much so we have already booked for October this year back to the Caribbean but different islands.Only downside is that we can only go for 10 nights due to my work.
From day one when we landed at Miami to the final day everything was superb. We were met at Miami and transferred to out overnight hotel. The next day we had the morning at leisure then onto Fort Laurerdale and boarding the Ruby.Boarding was well planned with no delays.Once onboard we were so impressed.
We found our cabin, with a little help, met our cabin steward who was first class.Nothing was too much trouble. We had pre ordered drinks for the cabin, beer, bottle of gin and tonic water.By mistake soda water had been delivered and we pointed this out.Within 10 minutes the soda water had been exchanged for tonic water and ice delivered.
We had opted for any time dining as we prefer to eat when we feel like and not at a set time.Perhaps yourselves prefer a set time.Whatever,I feel you will be more than happy. Some evenings we did not eat till after the show at the theatre,2200 hours.Talking of the theatre the shows were fantastic. So much so that the shows were full every evening. So to get the seat you want be there early as no reserving is allowed.
As far as excursions go we did not pre book.we travelled in the same coaches as those that had pre booked but for cheaper.Of course this was our cruise to the Caribbean and yourselves are thinking of Europe. But,I would hazard a guess that the same would apply.
To be honest I could write on and on about the Ruby and our enjoyment.Maybe the best thing is if you have any questions of her I could answer them as and when you ask.please feel free to ask away.
In a nutshell if you do decide to book the Ruby i am positive you will not be disappointed. We had a balcony cabin that served us in every way.Nothing like sitting on the balcony as the sun sets watching the sea pass by with a large gin and tonic (hic hic) ;)
I shall try and add some photos here, but,as it is my first effort please excuse me if I mess it up.
    Hope to hear from you.
    All the best,
    Michael and Beverley

    Hello Michael and Beverley,
My daughter and I are going on a 1 week eastern Caribbean cruise on the Ruby in just 4 weeks time, and I wondered if you stayed overnight before boarding at the Intercontinental West just outside of Miami (area known as Doral? spell?) Also, what did you do on your last day after leaving the ship and before flying home? I read that you can book an everglades tour from the ship for this day with an airport return included?
    Kind Regards,
    Liz.
