Topic: Just back from Grand Princess - Warning contentiuous subjects!!

glad you had a great cruise. nice review, hope it will settle some peoples minds about cruising on her. it was great to see that EVERYONE was at last taking note and washing their hands and using the gel. hope everyone takes note for ALL future cruises in ALL ships.

We paid the standard tips as well as the staff worked very hard and long hours and most were excellent.. it was a lovely trip

I have always experienced a great cruise and holiday on whatever ship I have cruised on, and I am glad Lizzie you have also had a great time.
I also respect the opinions of others, who may have sailed on the same ships that I have, and may have had a different experience, which may not have been as good as mine, on their cruise.

I also disembarked Grand Princess today and I agree with every word of your reveiw.
It was a shame about Oslo, but the captain was correct in his decision and could not have let us become pawns in someone elses political battle.
If the moaners want to allow a single disappointment to shadow their whole cruise thats up to them but I will take away all the high points rather than the lows.

Thanks Issy, I truly believe hand washing and gel are the key to avoiding some of the problems. I also bought an anti viral foam from Boots £2.99 which we used in between whiles.

Dell Boy, I absolutely agree about different experiences, hence why I wrote this:

I think people need to be a little more open minded when it comes to other peoples tips. You were/are very fortunate to be able to afford a balcony (and a subsequent suite upgrade!) but some people might need to save for a very long time to afford an inside cabin - and perhaps forego some day to day essentials - to get away on their 'dream holiday'. Of course they wouldn't admit to their tight finances out of embarrassment, and it's just possible that $5 per envelope is more than they can really afford... But they want to give something because they know the hard working staff deserve it.
