Havent seen any mention of our most important measure. We have cruised for c20 times and have avoided the Lurgii[gripping Wood at this point!]. Since it reared its ugly we have NEVER used other than our cabin WC on board because the public WCs are still the most likely spreader. Wash your hands thoroughly there but remember there are others who dont, who then touch door handles etc when leaving. We do all the other basic gel and non-touching ploys but think that avoiding the Public WCs is the main preventer.
Hope this doesnt sound too patronising but both I and the young salt genuinely hope it helps avoiding you the Lurgi! We are there, wth every confidence, on July 3. Hope that we all voyage happily and safely.
    NB
A few others I forgot . Bring and frequently use your own hand gel. clean the obvious 'touch' areas in your shower/WC room with Antii Bac wipes before first use. Don't accept a cabin that is awaiting cleaning on 1st day. Dont touch the rails in lifts. Don't tolerate no Gel machines at gangplanks,.Complain!
Oh- and we are NOT moaning minnies:D
I agree with everything you say. Except anti bacterial wipes will not kill norovirus. If everyone took 'special care' as a previous poster put it, the problem would be greatly reduced.

Many thanks for you information. I have done some research and it is claimed that 'Wet Ones' contain the necessary chemicals to 'kill' norovirus.

    Grand Princess Clean

Just back today from Grand Princess cruise and encountered no reports of any outbreaks of virus. There are hand gels at the entrance to all eating areas and the staff ensure that diners use them. Saw a few people try to avoid but they were called back.

One strange thing was that for the first 2 nights when entering the Boticelli dining room were required to use the hand gels but from the 3rd night on they were not made available. We asked the head waiter why and he said they were only necessary for the first 2 nights, thought that was strange, but the Horizon court had them every day. Then at beginning of 2nd week the gels reappeared in the Boticelli so does make you wonder if something occurred to make them re-introduce them.
