    Balmoral recent Canada/US Cruise

Has anyone anything positive to say about this? There seem to be quite a few pretty negative reviews going the rounds - it would be interesting to hear if anyone has anything positive to say! I hope some people enjoyed themselves......

    Hi Slizzy

I was on the first leg of this cruise and thoroughly enjoyed it. I posted a lengthy review here:

    http://www.fred-olsen.cruises.co.uk/cruise-reviews/balmoral/read_review_17451/
    I awarded five stars.

Perhaps I'm just lucky, but I've enjoyed every single moment of every single cruise I've ever been on.

    Regards

    Thumbs up Balmoral

I think a lot of the negative reviews have been posted by the same person under different names.;)

Another plot by the CIA (Cruise Industry Agents) or could it be the Daily Mail ;)

Thanks for your responses; considering a leg of the world cruise and I've been a bit worried about reports of "noxious fumes" in inside cabins. I'll take my chances with infections - as a retired teacher I reckon I've been exposed to almost everything over the past 30ish years and remained healthy - but don't fancy unknown stuff coming through the air con system.

I'd take the noxious fumes with a big pinch of salt (if you see what I mean) ;).

If you're considering a leg of the world cruise on Balmoral there's one thing that I'll mention though. Unlike her sister ships, there's almost nowhere on deck with a forward view. Imagine the excitement of arriving at, say, Sydney - and having to wait for the opera house to pass by the port side before you could see it. This is a real downside in my view.

'A lot of negative reviews'? That's not me, by the way!

I do hope you're not referring to me, Mrs Noah! That would be a unfair and unfounded statement!

Just in case you are, and maybe you missed my 2 recent posts, I have already pointed out on another part of this site that I have only one review published on 'my' websites - as you can clearly see from the more or less identical text - apart from the odd word or phrase!

And my review describes factually and honestly some of my experiences, not all negative by any means, but a very mixed bag, as are comments made in many other reviews published. When was anything perfect for goodness' sake?

Regarding my comments, I will just say (and please, let this be the last time I have to) some experiences were excellent, some mediocre to good and one in particular, absolutely frightening.

We are allowed, remember, to relate our experiences, beliefs, suggestions etc as long as we abide by the rules of the site. Those personal experiences will not always concur with everyones else's - so what? That's what this forum is all about.

If you weren't in my cabin, how could you know?

You are such a rude man. I really do resent your statement. It makes me out to be a liar and that is one thing that I am not. There were several reports of noxious fumes entering cabins on 3 decks. Unfortunately my cabin was one of them and I became ill as a result. Is that something to have a dig about? Is that funny?
Anyway, we'll see what comes out at the end as far as that is concerned.
It is not the first time either that a similar thing has happened, as has been posted before. I didn't see you making such innuendoes then.
You are a big fan of F.Olsen so I understand why you need to defend so vigorously but, please, try to keep it fair and decent.
You really don't need to try to cast sly aspersions on my truthfulness just because you don't like what I wrote.
I don't always agree with your posts but I hope I wouldn't ever be ignorant enough to write about you in a similar manner.

How dare you Thomas?! How on earth could could my earlier reply to Slizzy provoke this personal attack?

I can only assume that at some point you have posted something somewhere about 'noxious' fumes. I assume you're certain that I've read your post. I assume therefore that you believe my comment was directed at you personally. This is nothing short of staggering arrogance.

My motivation in replying to Slizzy was to do with reassurance. I was being upbeat and pleasant. For you to appear out of nowhere with this tirade is about anger and ego.

    Regards
