Topic: Crystal Symphony's Multi-Million Pound Makeover

After it’s £multi-million makeover, Crystal Cruises is this summer unveiling new interiors and deck spaces for Crystal Symphony. The cruise liner will boast redesigned penthouses, pool areas and Lido Café – as well as numerous behind the scenes upgrades.
The penthouses will be updates to have the feel of residential apartments with enlarged living spaces and bedroom. The suites also offer an entrance lobby, his and her walk-in closets, private study area, living room, state-of-the-art audio-visual system, and dining room with floor-to-ceiling windows.

The Lido Cafe will be transformed into an upscale dining spot with a completely new Crystal dining experience, designed to showcase Crystal's freshly cooked fare as well as add intimate seating and improved flow. Inspired by the endless skies, surf and sand dunes of the Hamptons seashore, the room will be infused with light through a new glazed indoor/outdoor extension and expansive floor-to-ceiling windows. Natural tones of seashell, sand and weathered timber provide a soothing backdrop for sparkling polished metal accents and sea grass screens.
Crystal Symphony's pool areas will be redefined with new spaces, water features and furniture providing more indoor and al fresco dining, plush conversational seating and varied sunbathing options. Sophisticated limestone tile will offset the azure pool and the new, larger whirlpool, while deck furniture offers a harmonious combination of antique white and neutral taupe accented with colors of sunshine and tropical fruit.

Crystal's drydock is scheduled for 17th Sept – 1st Oct in Boston at the Atlantic Marine Boston shipyard. Adfecto will design the Crystal Penthouses, Lido Cafe, Seahorse Pool and Neptune Deck areas, guest elevators and crew mess. Kurt Nix will design Prego and II X IV will design the Penthouses and Penthouse Suites.

I had the chance to look around Symphony in November 09 in Grand Turk when both ships were together which is a very rare event. I was on Serenity and Crystal allowed guests to board the other ship to have a look around and to meet crew members and guests on each ship.
The changes on Symphony were splendid.
The food area in The Lido has been rearranged, stations have been added for each different type of food, trays are no longer needed. The area looks very fresh and guests enjoyed the new arrangements.
The inside pool has been taken away and dining tables are now in that central area.
On deck there is a large Jacuzzi next to the pool and the seating around the pool has been replaced by comfortable sofa like seats and white wicker sunbeds.
Prego has been remodeled.
All the new changes are very tasteful and enhance the six star appeal of Symphony.
