Foie Gras, Fillets & Flambés! (ANOTHER Azura Exclusive!)

P&O Cruises have kindly given us another exclusive peek - this time it's regarding their fine dining venu 'Seventeen'...

"Prepare yourself for an extraordinary gastronomic journey to the very heart of fine dining. Seventeen fuses classic dining elements with the best of modern British dining to create a sensuous menu, uniquely presented in a sophisticated and contemporary setting".

...Take a look and let us know what you think

    Seventeen Menu 1

    Seventeen Menu 2

I think John Torode and Gregg Wallace would be impressed... :D

There's a lot of sweet stuff mixed with savoury going on there. I'm sure it will all taste marvellous, but some of the faffing about they've done with things sounds a bit suspect to me.

Including Foie Gras (Fat Liver) from specially fattened ducks or geese - which usually involves forcing food down their necks - doesn't appeal to me thanks. Nor would I like to sit with anyone else who was eating it.

Menu 2 looks better than Menu 1. Wine list is good also.

Oh, I forgot to add - you can skip the Foie Gras for me. I couldn't contemplate eating anything like that!

I am so glad it isn't just me bringing up the Foie Gras controversy. I suspect a lot of people are not aware of the cruelty involved, I love meat but try to have a conscience regarding it's production.Carol

I didn't know that Dave. I've never tried it either - not sure I'd want to now

I thought it was now banned. A lot of restaurants have taken it off the menu. I for one would not like to eat it.

Just how much extra are we going to have to pay for this?

As regards the foie gras I'd like to force feed the pretencious prat who put it on the menu.
