Ventura - which deck-any advice appreciated.

Hi ,we have (after much deliberation),just booked the Ventura for a Med Cruise in July.We booked a Balcony Stateroom (on a Guaranteed JG grade) and understand from the TA that this will be on deck C or B.Is this correct ? Also does anyone have any idea which of the decks is best for privacy on the balcony and for a quiet cabin if we are able to have a preference or upgrade nearer to departure.I also read somewhere on the forum-but cant find it now-that the Port side is best for sunshine. We would appreciate any advice as this is our first cruise and it is to celebrate a special birthday !!! Thankyou.

Trust Dave. He knows his stuff. We have always had B deck. Smaller balconies. Daughter loved C deck. Bigger balconies. But, partly covered. So a little privacy. Wherever you end up have a great cruise. Carol

Do you have a suggestion regarding catching the sun on the balcony ? I'm sure I also read that the Port side is best,or was I dreaming it !!!

Well it all depends on whether you're sailing east or west, and whether you're north or south of the Equator (more or less).

In the Mediterranean, the sun will always be in the south at midday. Therefore, if you are sailing due east the sun will be on your right - starboard. If you are sailing due west, the sun will be on your left - port. When heading north or south if doesn't really matter what side you're on!

(It's been a bit of a worry writing this - there're so many ways of getting it wrong :o.)

    Regards
