Cruise the world with Costa Deliziosa

Costa has announced that it will be offering a world cruise aboard it's new ship - Deliziosa, next year.

Departing in December 2011, the 99-night cruise is not only being sold as a whole, but also in three sectors.

Fares will start from £9,989pp (cruise-only) for the full sailing, which will include all drinks at lunch and dinner, plus a package of five excursions.

Costa took delivery of the Costa Deliziosa in Venice on Saturday. It is due to be christened on February 23.

Arrow Their ships look very nice but..

Don't know how to do a Poll, but I'm wondering..

which Italian cruise line is "less appealing"?
    - Costa or MSC?

From everything I've read, I'd be apprehensive to book either
especially with so many other lines delivering consistently better value for money it would seem
and far better reviews from cruisers!

    What do you think?

Costa Cruises UK managing director Marco Rosa said the world cruise and Red Sea itineraries are part of the cruiseline’s ongoing strategy to open new markets as its fleet continues to grow. It started cruising in Dubai and the Far East in winter 2006/07.

For winter 2011/12, Costa Luminosa and Costa Deliziosa will based in the emirate, as they are now, and there will be two ships – Costa Romantica and Costa Classica – in the Far East.

Costa took delivery of the Costa Deliziosa in Venice on Saturday. It will sail from Savona with paying passengers on February 5, on a 20-night inaugural cruise to Dubai, where it will be named on February 23.

Two more new ships, Costa Favolosa and Costa Fascinosa, are due for delivery in summer 2011 and spring 2012 respectively.

Just out of interest, I worked out that if you drank fairly conservatively at lunch (2 small bottles of beer) and dinner (half a bottle of cheapest wine), the inclusive drinks would save you £1300 on the world cruise. How much would a seasoned drinker save?

If you had a couple of duty free cigarettes after lunch and dinner how much would smoking duty free enable a heavy smoker to save over a world cruise?

How come it is apparently all right to comment like this on 'Alcohol' when one would not normally dream of doing so in connection with smoking?
Puzzled - both cause health problems and can cause early death. We now know that 2 glasses of wine a day is too much for women's health.

OK Macro I stand admonished. If we go on like this it will be forbidden to discuss food because too much food puts on weight and obesity can also damage health.

I AGREE ! My comment was ironic. If smoking is mentioned on this forum or in the questions/answers section the vitriol coming from numerous 'pens' on this site is quite astonishing. Not so Alcohol. I was pointing out the irony to those who have been on this site since June last year and whose opinions on smoking are never replicated when it comes to Alcohol. Hope that clarifies. Many thanks.
