Although we have cruised before we are heading for the Caribbean later this year for the first time. We would prefer to do our own excursions although based on what we have read on the forum we may use Cosul at St Lucia. Any advice on Tortola, St Maarten, and St Vincent would be appreciated. Probably just want to head for a decent beach for a few hours. Do boats berth close enough to walk into the nearest town? It seems that this may be the case at St Maarten ( Philipsburg ). If so we assume we could get a local taxi.
