Well said Chris, every body's budget's are different and if you like a drink well, of course most of us like to know what the, end price will be. I will always sail with PO they give me all the comforts I require , and I know their prices are reasonable, of course if you have no restraints on your budget you can get ripped off with whom you like.

Sorry if I offend good friends on this site, but I'm afraid that chastising folk for taking the price of drinks into consideration shows a degree of arrogance :mad::mad:

No Bill, I don't choose a cruise on the basis of who has the cheapest drinks and I rather think the vast majority who ask/complain about prices don't either. But as per Malcolm's observation, they're a consideration, along with the ticket prices, etc. Or maybe ticket prices don't bother you either, Bill.

Remember, Dave, alcohol & drink are two different words, I've yet to see high booze prices on the same bar tariff as sensible water/soft drinks prices.

You may not be bovvered, Cynthia, but if you've nothing sensible to contribute, why take the **** out of the OP and anyone else who thinks an 80% difference in their bar bill is worth mentioning.

And David & Richard, it's not the price of a drink. We are a captive market some days and every evening

My post may be less diplomatic than JC's, but hopefully the risk of being labelled arrogant will temper future posts of those to whom apparently money doesn't matter.

    Chris (in wound-up mood)
no Chris, it would take more than that to "offend" me, but I have to say it did annoy me a little! If you had read the large number of items I have posted on here and on the main site you might appreciate that, over several years, i have done my best to answer questions and give any advice I could!
I merely indicated in the post that so clearly infuriated you, that I agreed with Bill that the price of drinks did not influence my choice of cruise.
I defy anyone to define that as "arrogance". I am retired and have to save hard to afford my cruises. You are no doubt too young to realise that the credit crunch means, to us OAPs., that our savings and pensions are reducing even as we look at them!!!
A little more thought and a little less "hot air" might better become you. Cynthia

    Hi Cynthia,

Because my comments were aimed at "old friends", believe me they were a lot less blunt than they could have been.

I still don't understand why, on a forum headed "drinks prices", people take the **** out of a perfectly reasonable & innocuous post about drinks prices
Hardly the stuff to encourage debate.
Yet it's you that's suggesting "a little more thought"

"You are no doubt too young to ......".

Well, I liked that bit at least.
Even if it's not accurate. :D

    Regards,
    Chris

Unfair, unfair----even though I am now but a ghost, condemned to walk this earth searching for solace and forgiveness, you have to rub salt in my wounds!!!Equal treatment for ghosts is all I ask(and possibly a badge, though in my present state I know not where to pin it) Cynthia
