Issy, do keep us updated on how she gets on. It would be great then if she was working on board ship for her to keep a Diary and recount some of the tales to us. Inside information about tips too;)

Hope she is successful but be prepared for long hours and hard work.

well I thought I would give you a wee update. my daughter's interview is on mon 7th June so not long to go. it will last several hours as well as a phone interview she had to fill in a test online. then she is having the face to face/group interview on the 7th. gosh I always thought that as the wages were so low and high number of staff turnover meant they took on nearly anyone no matter their experience but now I know different! :D I will now look on the bar staff and cocktail staff in a different light and bow to their expertise on future cruises. ;)

Wow, Issy! I certainly wouldn't have imagined it would be so difficult. Best of luck to your daughter for Monday. hope it goes well for her. My niece has recently finished her degree in criminology and is now working as a police officer before specialising.
    I'll keep my fingers crossed.

what is she going to specialising in? Lesley Anne would like to join the rape section, whatever it is called! will your neice be fast tracked because she has a degree or just work her way up the ranks?

    Hi Issy,
My neice wanted to work in forensics and did her degree in criminology and forensics. She joined the police and had to do two years before moving in to any specialism. However, she has enjoyed herself so much that she wants to stay as she is for a while longer before branching into any specific area. She didn't get fast tracked or anyhting, she thinks everyone starts from the same starting point.
Hope your daughter is successful in whatever she chooses, and hope she gets in to the Disney line and enjoys her time there.

my daughter has just got an interview to work on Disney cruise line as a cocktail waitress. has anyone any tips..........excuse the pun!:D

she is studing crimminology and will be finishing uni this year and would like a year out, then join the police. she see this as a good fun way to work. she has worked in the restaurant/hotel trade since she was 16, waiteressing and as a chef. so she is used to long hours. she works hard and likes to party. she is a fun loving bubbly girl so I think she will enjoy the work.
Her experiance in the Hotel trade will take preference over her other abilities. But Disney are a very sharp company and have different ways in treating staff.

Daughter had interview yesterday but will not know for another 7-10 days as they are interviewing in England also. her interview lasted about one hour with a group introduction and talk prior to it. she was asked more indepth questions than I have ever had at any interview.

what annoyed her was she had to pay £10 to get OUT of the Novotel car park after the interview!!!!

will let you know the outcome. :D
