    General info please

We are lookjing to book the Christmas Carousel on the Island Escape, but were wondering the following

Whats the general age range on the cruise?
How much do the trips cost when your in port
Has anyone stayed in one of the 2-4 berth cabins? we are worried they will be too cramped?

Any comments you could pass on would be appreciated.

Hi, you can get the ports of call and excursions with approx. prices under the ports in each country.
We had all ages aboard from toddlers with parents in 20's and 30's through us in our 50's to those in their 70's. You might have more children aboard as it's holiday time.
I can't help with more than 2 in a cabin as we had a 2 berth for both of us.
Also see today's answer I did to the Colourful Coasts thread.

    Hello Mrs. M
Have read lots of your excellent posts on here.
I think many of the poor reviews on here are from people who have cruised with "grander cruise lines".
Even though older she has the same facilities of the other ships of comparable size.
If you have not cruised before she is a good one to start with, you get to experience cruising at a reasonable cost

the 4 berth cabins are OK,we are three and found no problems. Good space for hanging clothes. The upper bunks fold up during the day. Some cooperation needed to move around especially to use the bathroom but cabin size is adequate. Excursions as always are expensive. Ship overall is looking a bit tired but crew is excellent and food good but like most cruise menus all a bit bland - there is there is HP and tomato sauce!

We thought the food both in the island Restaurant and the Beachcomber was much better than on our recent Royal Caribbean cruise. Especially the Afternoon Tea, that was fantastic.

Many thanks everyone for your replies, we have now booked!!! We ended up paying the extra and going for two cabins, as it would have been myself, my husband, my 14year old stepdaughter, and my 10 year old son, so we just thought this would start to get to be a bit of strain, all having to use the cabin to get changed ect.

For those of you who have been before, what sort of things should I pack to wear? is it preety mixed dress code in the evenings?

    Hi,
She's informal, so unless you want to you don't need anything for dressing up in the evening. More room for proper holiday clothes. Last time aboard I counted the number of ties I saw in the evenings on the fingers of one hand.
And according to the brochure you will be having Christmas dinner on the beach in Almeria Shorts and T shirt seem more in order than a Dinner Jacket.

You lucky devils. I would love to be able to go away like this for Christmas, but DW will not go. But as her dad is 80 in Feb. I can understand why.
I am determined to go one day though, just to try it for once.
I hope you will take piccies of your cabin for us Mrs. M.
Unlike most of the population I love looking at other peeps holiday pics
