    Hi Barry,
Since Thomson's took over we can no longer book excursions online. You have to do it at the Shore Excursions desk once aboard.
They use the flat pin American plugs. We always take an extension lead with a bank of 4 plugs from home and manage to charge up mobiles, still and ,video cameras with no problem.
No kettles in the cabins, but the buffet is open 24 hours for tea and food. We have those aluminium travel mugs with lids you can buy in ASDA and elsewhere cheaply. They are bigger and safer than the ship's ones for taking hot drinks down.
Mind you we book a cabin on deck 9 right under the Beachcomber, so it's out the door, up the stairs and at the grub.
We're off on her again this coming Friday around the canaries for a week, can't wait :D

http://cruiseforums.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=496 . Have a look here on Cruise Critic too. Lots of people just coming back from recent cruises quite satisfied.
    I'm Cymro1953 on there

Thank you, we'll do our best. :-) Put a dent in the "free" All Inclusive.
Never mind March will soon be here.

    Hic...What Spare booze....Hic :-)
We lost our free A.I. on Thomson Destiny for next Sept. We saw a better offer on the Princess Cruises Grand Princess for same dates, nearly same ports. But we got a balcony cabin + $300 on board credit and £200 cheaper. Instead of a small twin bed outside. So we didn't lose the Thomson's deposit we booked a cruise on the new dream in April but they wouldn't transfer the A.I.

    Hi Barry,

I’m also going to be on the Island escape in March..... Going to be my first cruise....

I’m afraid you cant pre-book day trips before you join the ship but there is a brochure on Thomsons website that will give you an idea of what there is to do at each port and prices, although imp not sure of how up to date the prices are.... Heres the link, if you haven’t seen it before..... http://www.thomson.co.uk/editorial/editorial-downloads/ColourfulCoastsjan09.pdf (http://www.thomson.co.uk/editorial/editorial-downloads/ColourfulCoastsjan09.pdf). Thomson is working on online booking for excursions for cruisers, but I doubt that will be live before we sail....

No tea/ coffee making facilities in cabins im afraid...

    Hope this helps....

Hi Barry My wife and I went on the Escape last April and enjoyed our week aboard. We have also booked to go again in March.

There are no tea making facilities in the cabin but the Beachcomber does have 24 hour faciities. The mugs are plastic and a bit small, but i found them to be right for me (you could always use your own). We are thinking of taking a small flask this year so we can havve a cup of tea in the morning without having to go up to the Beachcomber.

We had no problems keeping things charged (mobile.Nintendo DS and 2 cameras) although it did take longer than at home.

Didn't have any problems booking trips onboard last year hopefully it will be the same this year.

    Hi Barry.
If you look in Introductions--Totally Unprepared thread i posted thumbnails of all the excursion leaflets for IE Canaries cruise last November.
I found there were sockets in cabin that would charge my phone etc.
