Wilba, I am absolutely not a 'techie' & use Firefox, & the 'link' works fine. Bit of a 'mystery'? Hope Harvey's suggestion works. Regards, Lizzie

It works OK for me even with the slash on the end. Using Internet Explorer 8

Hi I am really sorry for any stressed caused, however, a swift cut and paste of http://cruisefromhell.webs.com/ worked for me, and I assumed it would be the same for others too.
Just for the record and Wilba, the above website, is for the Island Escape Action Group, it is not my website, nor am I member. I merely mentioned the new website for any past or future IE passengers who may be interested!!!

All the pictures have been on this site before so don't worry
There is a video to demonstrate how unstable the ship was, the ship is running with the sea so a lot of pitch but no roll so really proves nothing as we cannot see the height of the waves.
There is no doubt it’s a rust bucket the picture of the public toilet shows a lack of basic maintenance.
It's working just fine now.
When you guys tried, and it didn't work
--must have been the fault of the website being down.
That final slash has nothing to do with functionality of a URL.
Slashes are inert when included at the end of a string --makes no difference
-but within the string...BIG difference! no workee!!
I just tried the URL (as posted, with end slash) and it popped right up for me.
.
I've just had a look at the photos in all three albums on that website
and all I can say is... What a rust-bucket!
I'd take a free cruise on her, but not much else.
Wouldn't want to pay any sort of meaningful money to cruise that!

Seems its last inclusion within the covers of a Berlitz Guide to Cruising
was in the 2009 edition (on page 403)
where it received a generous rating of 1,193.
It's not included in the 2010 Berlitz Guide
which may be saying something about withdrawl from service?

The very words 'Island Escape' have made me feel quite nauseous ever since I first saw that documentary series 'Cruise ship', shot during its inaugural season under this name. I still laugh when I recall one disgruntled passenger who, whilst complaining about the sewage issue to a member of staff, said, 'I booked a luxury cruise'. Not aboard that ship you didn't, pal.
That programme did for cruising what 'Airline' has done for flying!
People who knew that I had done a lot of cruising said, "What on earth do you see in it"? "It looks like Woolworths Caf on a Saturday morning, piles of dirty plates and nowhere to sit".
I'd spend the next ten minutes trying to convince them that this was not the norm on other cruise lines!
Wilba
Thomsons problem is convincing potential cruisers that it is not the norm on 'real' Thomsons ships.
As for the Escape itself, I reckon there is little chance that it will be scrapped, after all TUI own it so it is cheaper to run than the chartered Thomson ships. Their best course of action is to spend LOTS of money on it to fix the plumbing and upgrade the facilities. IMO having the only casual british cruise ship is to much of a opportunity to muck up!.
