    Cool Sorry..

Can you extricate yourself from the booking
    with minimal losses?

You should ask: try to nip it in the bud...?

Yes, if you've only paid a deposit it might be worth cutting your losses. The ship sounds nasty these days.

Look around in the appropriate section
for a thread that provided a link to tell-all photos.

    OK I got it.
    http://cruisefromhell.webs.com/ is the front page
but the page you want is their photo Gallery, at URL
    http://cruisefromhell.webs.com/apps/photos/

Go take a look at get back to us with your reaction.

This is the carpet outside your cabin?

I went thru the whole lot (maybe 20-30 photos) detailing the rusty ugly bits
and it wasn't a pretty sight!

You should try to get out, seriously!

As you have been advised it is better to try and cancel the Cruise following the latest reports on this Ship. But in Law and on paying a Deposit you have entered into a Contract which means you would have to pay Thompsons the full balance of the holiday. However it is rare that Companies look at this option.Simply send a letter and Cancel the holiday, this should be to yur booking agent.Best of Luck.

    Talking Be strong, fellow cruiser?

Read the fine print re. cancelling.

Usually, you'll lose a little something when cancelling this early
    but it'll be worth it!
Just chalk it up to Experience, as my Dad used to say. ;)

    On the other hand,
you could be brave and go thru with the cruise
aware of what you're getting into
and go prepared -with clipboard, pencil and camera
to thoroughly document whatever transpires(good and bad!)
to let us all know, a week after you return...?

    Brenda,

We have just changed our booking from the Island Escape to The Dream for June this year and it only cost £35 each to transfer plus any extra cost of the cruise. So if you stay with a Thomsons cruise it shouldn't cost you too much more.
