Island Escape was our first cruise ship five years ago and it was a dump then I wouldn't sail on that ship again if I was paid to do so.

Having cruised on Island Escape last May i don't see what peoples problem is. They know what it is when they book it, its a low budget cruise. You have to accept this as a fact and that the entertainment is very much of the 'Hi-de-hi' style and that there will always be passengers treating it as a booze cruise. As long as you ignore this and get on with enjoying your own holiday then you will have a great time on Island Escape as my husband and i did.
It doesn't matter if it is Island Escape or any other cruise line be it 3 stars or 5 you will always get the moaners who are trying to get compensation to help pay for the next holiday so that they can complain about that one too.

Hi moley, we did our first cruise also on Island Escape a few years before you,and it can't have been so bad(in fact it was v.good) because it whet our appetite for cruising ,and we now do at least 3 a year. There is some truth in what you say though, regarding some people wanting a" lot for not much".Obviously they're not Yorkshire people though!!!!! Nice to have another member from Donny, welcome Stan:D

Well personally I don't think we as clients complain enough when we get a bad experience on board, many are put off with the rude staff on Reception.

Cruise Directors are constantly tell us only marking the comment forms with excellent is considered the only mark worth having.

We select a cruise on many points, but really the information given about cabins and facilities on board often is not what we find on board. These forums help many who have not cruise before, but so many do not even seek advise but rely on the word of travel agents and the like.
Okay many of these so called complaints are a bit over the top, but then again many have a reasonable foundation.
Of my own experience of the Island Cruises is that I tried both but found them well below what was promised, but not enough to get mad about.

Oh dear oh dear, I have just noticed I am a ships cook!! I hate cooking!! I think Cruise Dot has mixed up the promotions, surely I should be the bosun now? and the galley should start with galley boy, ships steward, then cook? I want to stay on deck duties please!!

    Hi Stan

Thank you for the welcome, been going to join the forum for a while but never got around to it (but i want a badge, lol). Have been cruisings for 7 years now and our first was on Airtours Seawing. Have cruised with many lines since and they all have there merits and there shortcomings as long as your willing to take that onboard (no pun intended) then cruising is by far the best way to see the world. I would happily cruise with Island Escape again and pick my cruise for the itinery, value for money and if it fits in with my husbands time of work so that i can have as many cruises a year as possible.

    Mo
