Should I go for the inclusive drinks package

I am not sure if I should purchase some of Celebrity's new dricks packages as I am not sure if it is good value or not; does any one know what Celebrity charge for individual drinks like beer, wine & spirits etc? I have found a price list on celebrity's website but I am not sure if that is the prices they will charge whilst sailing in the med / europe. Thanks

    Hi Richard and Welcome Aboard!

Personally, I don't think they are worth it. You have to pay that amount each day of the cruise, so assuming you take the 'Beer Package' @ £22 a night that's an extra £154 per person on a 7 night cruise. To make it worthwhile you would need to drink more that 4 pints a day of beer every day....

Thanks for the speedy reply, I think I will probably pay as I go; I would have gone for the packages but I think you have to be a serious drinker to save any money.

The drinks package is NOT good value in my opinion. Beer is $5 + grat for unnamed beer and $6 + grat for named beers Hieneken, Carlberg etc.

Here are the prices as at last Christmas...........

Beer package $30 per day + 15% Grat
That's 6 pints to break even or 7 pints a day to win on the deal.

    2 Liquor packages on offer
$45 per day + 15% Grat allows drinks up to $8 each
$66 per day + 15% Grat allows drinks up to $11 each

Their drinks packages dont really make much sense, unless you drink only beer or only spirits or only wine, etc. There is no combinable drinks package and you would have to get through an awful lot of drinking to make it anywhere near value for money.
Even the Wine packages are very limited in choice and you can pick better wines of the regular wine list starting at around $27 plus grat.

Yes, I felt too that the choices were quite limited; it would have been better if there had been a package that included a combination of everything. I like a drink but I have come to the conclusion that I would have to drink an awful lot of beer to make this work and the same would apply to the other drinks packages which according to the small print you can't share so that would mean my wife having to purchase a wine package as well as me which would not make it economical at all and we would both be blotto to make it so. I'll pay as I go. Thanks
