Flight details, can anyone help, please

    Hi all,
Can anyone help please? We have booked a cruise with Princess on the Carribbean princess from 4th Dec 2011 for 2 weeks. All we Know about our flight is its going from a London airport to San Juan. We have tried to find out what flight where, but even when we booked they didnt know. Which seems odd as the same cruise goes this year. So, can anyone help please?
Who could it be with, could there be a stopover & what sort of times are the flights? It woul be nice to have a rough idea.
    Many thanks

Major airlines do nor release their schedules until 12 months before so there is nothing in place for Dec 2011. However currently there are no direct flights to San Juan so there will be a changeover somewhere, probably in the US, depending on which airline is used. Therefore expect an overall journey time of at least 15 hours. You should also check that the flight out will be the day before the ship sails as it would be unlikely you could get there on the same day.

When we picked up a Princess cruise in San Juan we flew with Thomson Airways out of Gatwick. Departure time was 10.25 with an arrival into San Juan of 14.55. We had asked for flights from Manchester, so they flew us down to Gatwick the day before which meant an overnight stay at Gatwick. This was back in 2007, but they might still be using similar arrangements.

    Thanks once again.

They don't do those flights anymore. I cruised from San Juan end March 2007 (Easter hol break) and flew down to Gatwick from Manchester too and out with Thomsons!!

I've literally just booked another holiday for 17th April (this time on Caribbean, not Crown as it was before) and the flights connected to this cruise for UK passengers were booked in April 2010!!! We enquired and they were taking holding bookings and that was it.

To cut a long story short, it has taken us 6 hours to find flights (with the travel agents help who booked the cruise) and this is our flight schedule:

    Gatwick 9:40 with US Airways
    Charlotte, North Carolina 13:35
    Leave Charlotte 18:15
    San Juan 21:50

    Staying at Sheraton too.

I think most people who booked flight and cruise together as a package are changing in Miami and going with American Airlines (for my cruise anyways). That is what I was told by my travel agent when I first tried to book.

Not too sure whether my holiday is package or cruise + flight even though all booked with same agent.

Charlotte is MUCH more user-friendly than Miami. I would choose that anyday. It's a nice airport and they shouldn't have the long Customs and Immigration lines that Miami has.

Thanks. That is what everyone keeps telling me. Considering I am nervous about it (never flown with an international airlione - only UK basedones and apart from Gatwick to Manchester, i have never had to connect with another flight) I am feeling much more positive about it.

My husband was also pleased we werenot going to Miami, especially staying in a hotel. Very pleased that we will be in San Juan on the Saturday evening which means a good lie-in the next morning and a leisurely 'stroll' around the old town.

I don't suppose anyone knows how far away the Sheraton is from the ship? Walking distance by any chance?

And found out that my holiday is covered under Abta/Atol or whichever as booked both with the same agent.

That's a convoluted schedule. I fly US on occasions and looked at their schedule from Manchester. Man to PHL and then PHL to San Juan...one stop.
PHL is an OK airport too...unless they close it for weather related problems!!
