Alan Titchmarsh Spring Cruise 2010
Following the success of this year’s Alan Titchmarsh River Cruise on the Danube, www.cruise.co.uk the UK’s Leading Cruise Agent is pleased to announce ‘Springtime in Norway’ on board the Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines, Balmoral next May.
The cruise departs Dover, UK on Saturday 15 May 2010, returning a week later on 22 May 2010. The seven night cruise from £599 per person will travel to four of Norway’s biggest cities including the capital, Oslo on 17 May, for the country’s national holiday which will see the streets of the capital come alive with celebrations.
During the cruise, guests will be able to meet Alan for an exclusive book signing event as well as joining two talks exclusively for www.cruise.co.uk guests. This is a great opportunity to visit Oslo, the oldest and least populous capital of the Scandinavian countries. The city offers superb theatre, great cafés, and excellent shopping as well as churches, palaces, parks and museums.
From Oslo, the Balmoral will travel on to Fredrikstad, the birthplace of Roald Amundsen, Kristiansand and Stavanger, which sits on the elegant, 40 km long Lysefjord, the southernmost fjord in Norway. Here, some of the soaring, snow capped granite mountains framing the waters below reach up more than a thousand metres. The stop will allow guests to explore Stavanger's Romanesque cathedral and old medieval lanes which blend beautifully with the modern city and spectacular countryside.
Commenting on the cruise Seamus Conlon, Managing Director of www.cruise.co.uk, said: “This will be the third time that guests have been able to experience Alan’s unique style, wit and of course knowledge of gardening. We had such fantastic feedback last year through our own web site review (http://www.cruise.co.uk/cruise-reviews/) and we are delighted that Alan will be rejoining us for what will be a great cruise to experience Norway and its culture.”
