    Answer section robots

Whilst looking at the question section today I was blocked by a page from cruise.co stating that I had visited this site 10 times in the past 14 days and requesting my name and email address to prove I am not a machine!!

I did leave my email address and since had an email from www.cruise.co.uk@clickwt containing a slightly jumbled message asking me to click on a longish link to 'authenticate that I am a real person'.

This I do not intend to do.

Has anyone else had this rather peculiar correspondence? And if this is a genuine message from cruise.co, can I ask you to prove that you are a real person first.

Jon,have looked at the web site you mention and it looks like...clickwt...is trying to steal business from Cruisedot and others in the travel trade. Most likely cruisedot will read this comment and take some action.

Actually my protection systems had moved it into my 'dodgy emails' slot. One suspicious aspect was that one sentence makes no sense as it seems to have missing words, rather reminiscent of those messages we used to get from guys in Nigeria with money they needed to get rid of. :p

    Jon,

This is what cruise dot said about the one in 10 rule for the review section. Not sure if it apples to answers as well:

    Why?
"The two sites cruise.co.uk and cruises.co.uk have historically had two different security levels, on Cruise.co.uk people are are allowed to post without first login in or registering, However on Cruises.co.uk we decided to give people access to "private messaging" and we decided to stop "reduce" any abuse that people needed to register first, and there are limits on the usuage of private messaging until you have posted a certain amount.

On the issue of the "rule of 10". We have become aware of a number of companies trying to use automated programs to "examine" our prices/discounts and other parts of the site (cruise.co.uk). The rule of 10 applies to reviews and we have a rule of 5 on looking at the final discounted cabin prices. (only went live this week so limits will probably get tweaked)

However once someone is validated (clicking on email sent to them) they should not see this again, unless using different computer etc. Those who have previously written review etc on cruise.co.uk should (if system working and we will check on monday) should not need to be validated as a real user.

We are happy for everyone to use the site but primarily those who contribute to the site must get preference and we don't want to waste bandwidth/resources."

But of course this may have been the automated programme referred to?

    Regards, Lizzie

This happened to me too recently, and I assumed it was an added security thing and complied.

It is still happening particularly on the answers page. An apology or even an acknowledgment from cruise dot would be appreciated.

I've only had it happen to me once. However, I note they're claiming that if you've previously written a review it should not happen to you. I'm not the only one who HAS previously written reviews and to whom it HAS still happened.

Afternoon H. Hope you are well! Yes it's happened to me too. Not checked for a while to see if it's still happening. Weird. Carol
