Change to Itiniery - Thomsons Celebration

    Greetings

Sailed on the Thomson Celebration in July 2010 taking the Ottoman Treasures itinery - a major reason for booking this cruise was a visit to Gallipoli to visit the war graves and monuments - this was changed at the last minute with the excuse that the port of Cannakale (it was replaced with the resort of Dikili - what a hovel!!) was too congested - how can this be - surely Thomsons have their destinations booked months in advance.

    That's life

I am sorry that you were disappointed by the change to the projected itinerary. Just as in life, I'm afraid, things crop up which mean that changes have to be made and this is one of the happenings at sea which occur with frequent regularity.

There is, unfortunately, nothing you can do about it and there is no recompense for a change to the ports of call. The reason they gave may have been the correct one or it may just have been a placator but what the Captain says is what will happen. The more times you cruise the more likely it is that this will have happened to you.

I' sure you will make the most of your cruise and not let a change spoil the whole thing. ....Neil

    Hi Woodings
Just looked on Cruisett and the only ship due into Cannakale in July was the Celebration on the 22nd.
