    P&O T&Cs conundrum!!!!

Would be grateful if someone could answer this conumdrum! How can P&O keep quoting T&Cs to one customer and let another customer get away with it??? One cancelled a part-world cruise 145 days in advance and was not allowed to transfer deposit to another cruise unless they booked another cruise to the same value? or at least 2 cruises to the same value and another customer cancelled a part-world cruise just over 91days in advance and was able to tranfer deposit to ONE CRUISE ONLY for 2 weeks at the cost of £2,200!!

Is it a case of who and what you know???

grateful for any thoughts on the matter

Hi Grampyb Maybe different circumstances for cancelling or medical conditions perhaps. or even the person who took the cancellation got in touch with the right person who applied a touch of commonsense instead of t&C's .
I have followed your posts and the answers you received but it looks like you still didn't get any satisfaction, what will you do now? CG.

As with many 'Rants and Moans' on this and different Forums, ask yourself one question. Have you seen all of the evidence?

Maybe the cruises were booked with different T&Cs applying all cruise companies amend there T&Cs from time to time? Another thought if you book through an Agent they may be applying there own T&Cs and P&O will keep referring you back to the agent ?

The other person contacted P&O direct we contacted P&O via travel agent and then direct. Different cancellation reasons but none the less as important and we gave extra notice. What to do now, to be perfectly honest, I do not know! I have written many times with the "evidence" but have got nowhere. So much for loyalty.

I have, I believe answered that one question, many many times to P&O, even to Carol Marlow direct.

The other person in question has very kindly spelt it out for me even down to the cost of his original cruise to the one he was allowed to book.

We were advised by our travel agent (from P&O) that we could change and found one the very next day and tried to book immediately a cruise on artemist in a suite, which worked out much more than the other person had to pay. We tried to change our cruise 145 days before full payment and as stated the other person 91 days before full payment. It was only then that we were advised P&O changed their minds!

The travel agent we booked through are not too far away from this website! and they were the ones that spoke with P&O, first to say we could and the very next day when we complied with P&O to book another immediately they, P&O said no.

The other person booked direct with P&O both of us on a part-world cruise.

So the issue now becomes more interesting. Without reading back too far I do not recall we had heard that there was a difference in the methods of booking.

As now stated, if one reservation had been made direct, can we assume that the direct booking paid a price that was not discounted by a Travel Agent. If that is true thenneither would P&O have paid a travel agent any commission.

Having now taking that into consideration I would think P&O were far more amenable in showing a degree of discretion in the matter to the direct customer, and quite understandable in my opinion.

We spoke to the travel agent, the travel agent spoke with P&O whilst we held on the phone. The travel agent came back to us to advise that P&O said it would be okay if we booked another cruise immediately. Overnight we checked available cruises, found a suite on Artemis. The morning immediately rang travel agent, travel agent phone P&O to book, P&O then changed their mind!!!
