    How Clean is your Ship?

Through its Vessel Sanitation Program, the CDC -- a United States agency that monitors a range of issues relating to public health -- inspects cruise ships with foreign itineraries that call on U.S. ports and that carry 13 or more passengers. Cruise ships are subject to inspections twice a year. The inspections are conducted to ensure that vessels are maintaining adequate levels of sanitation and to provide guidance to vessel staff when needed.

So who's had a clean bill of health, and who's just downright dirty and needs a visit from Kim & Aggie!

Click on your ship's name to see what the problems were

    Norvirus and ship cleanliness

I feel so sorry for everyone concerned in the latest publicised outbreak on board Marco Polo, but particularly those who have ended up in hospital. That so many have been affected, including crew makes one suspect the cleanliness and food handling techniques employed by the ship. Surely these outbreaks are investigated and a report published as to the findings ? These should be publicly available. The only time I have seen crew madly cleaning is when approaching US or Canadian ports. Never anywhere else. Why?
Are cruisers in Europe being shortchanged?

    Msc

-though lots of people reviewing MSC say that the crew clean frantically all the time. Sounds like the best bit of their cruise, lol!-Jo.

Strange but true Jo. Of all the ships I've been on, I have never seen so many staff cleaning, particulary the bits under the stair rails etc. If MSC put as much effort into the rest of their operation, like entertainment & embarkation they would be unbeatable. As it is, they deserve all the critisism they get.
