I'd like to think that
if the cruise lines do indeed set staff to monitor these cruising forums
..that attention is paid to the fact that many keen and interested cruisers
are now well aware of what's going on
-or rather what's not going on!
We've had much discussion on the matter and on possible preventive measures, suggestions etc.
It would be nice to see simple measures put in place!
* Regular cleaning of the public washrooms (assuming that cabins get a daily scrub)
* Self-flushing toilets
* Paper napkins (and a waste-basket) at the doors
.

It should also be compulsory to use the 'gel wash' when you enter/re-enter the buffet. On my recent cruise they were there but some did not bother to use them. They also took coffee cups for refills - saving on the washing up!

I prefer to have toilet tissue and flush it away
Must have been a Greek ship that you went on

My local pub deals with the problem neatly. The gents doors open outward so wash your hands and use your shoulder to open the door. It works for me but remember not to stick your shoulder in your mouth

Unless sucking off the beer that someone has spilt over you moving away from the bar!
Remember beer contains alcohol, alcohol kills germs (shame it's not Noro though!) maybe that's why I don't get ill!

The toilet doors on Celebrity Eclipse had a big button outside to tap which automatically opened the door. I did notice many people missed seeing the big button and grabbed the door handle anyway. On many occasions there was an attendant who pressed the button as someone approached. The water supply in the sinks was automatic by sensor and they had cloth towels neatly rolled which were dispossed of through a collection bin beneath the counter. Poshest loos ever!
