I tend to find most of these things amusing rather than annoying.

Like the lady at the next table at the bar on Mykonos who didn't want a fruit drink - oh I know, I'll have lemon!

I'm with you on the amusing Peter. Esp. 'The noisy bedroom buddies' lol

When we were on Marco Polo - where the waves lapped over our porthole we were so low down - the neighbors were two of the entertainers who watched action movies with lots of car chases and shooting whenever they weren't performing - and they either had them turned up loud or the cabin walls were this - probably both.
And there was a persistent smell of warm diesel - the only good thing was I lostquite a lot of weight in a couple of weeks as the food wasn't to my taste.
We never sailed Marco Polo again.

Obviously you weren't on the Fred Olsen ship we were on, might have been Balmoral, can't remember, - the track was above our cabin and was not meant to be used until after 8am, but we were woken up at 6 every single morning with heavy footed power walkers thumping round , so obviously we were sad.

Or when we were on Jewel of the Seas a few years ago when the teenagers took over the elevators and rode them all day pressing all the buttons and stopping at every deck, made getting anywhere rather slow.

Quite hard to use the stairs as you suggest when you have painful arthritis in the hips and knees.

I do hope others are more sympathetic to you than you are to us.
    Good Morning Phil,
The only sad thing about your Fred Olsen experience is that you booked a cabin below the promenade deck! To be honest, I wouldn't want other people's sympathy thank you very much. Sorry to hear about your hips and knees. As I said originally, life is too short to worry about trivialities!!!
Must dash as I am off to Belize, via Miami today, and we will be boarding soon.

    Regards

Heard in a bar in Barbados...
American woman to bar man 'can I have a Strawberry Daquiri without the Daquiri?'
    Barman...'NO!'

PM You're a piece of work aren't you?

Arthritic hips and knees are not trivialities in anyone book.

The list was meant to be a bit tongue in cheek really, but evidently not taken that way . I had a great time on both ships and am certainly not going to let anyone put me off booking again.

Also PM just for info, my aversion to stairs is due to arthirits, which is why I'm pretty lift dependent.
I realised you were having a bit of fun!

On one of our cruises we met a couple who:
-Never went ashore - been here before
-never sat on dech - don't like the sun
-never went in the pool - hate swimming
    -Didn't like the food
    -didn't drink

So i asked them: why are you here?? -We like the heat!

funny, I took it as tongue in cheek. Lots of people must have had sense of humour bypasses ;)

    Good Morning TheMaster,
    Oh Dear,
In a jet lagged haze I have re-read my rushed input. I did not intend to refer to Arthritic hips and knees as trivialities. I was referring to certain listings from the OP. Apologies if this was not clear.

I too have certain medical issues, however, I would not wish to go into them in a public forum but I can appreciate the situation.

"A piece of work"? How interesting.

My husband suffers from arthritis but still manages to run half marathons and he is one of those annoying power walkers on deck. The thing I find most annoying on cruise ships is almost getting run down by out of control mobility scooters. I really do think there should be a limit to amount allowed on board for the safety of all passengers. I have had to leap out of the way on several occasions.
