Glad to hear that someone else gets frustrated with non disabled people making use of the disabled spaces, (my husband is disabled) but he normally remarks that time will tell, 'one day they may not be able to walk very far' and then they 'may'! remember when they used the slots and shouldn't have!! Its good to see that Sainsbury are now doing fines and B and Q and Asda are supposed to be monitoring the spaces also.
I have a similar problem when I take out my dad. When my mum was in hospital the parking outside the Stroke Unit was ridiculous. Four spaces for disabled people and around forty for others and still able-bodied people were leaving cars in the disabled spaces I often ended up parking a long way from the building and pushing my dad in his wheelchair, often in the rain, to visit my mum. When we moved mum to our local hospital the unit had as many disabled spaces a ordinary ones and we never had trouble parking so close to the door that my dad could walk in on his good days.
My father in law has a disabled badge from when he had a coronary by-pass op. He now plays golf three times a week but still uses the badge!

It makes me so angry that there are so many mother and toddler car spaces. For goodness sake most of them have state of the art push chairs (and boy do they hurt when they crash into your leg )so it can't be so hard to put baby in a pram and walk a few yards and hold a toddlers hand. I had to do it with 5 kids under 7.Now i have difficulty walking fa,r but not enough (thank god )to have a dissability pass, so i have to walk quite a bit sometimes to get to the store. But of course the parents are the BIG spenders, so tough to the rest of us

Oh my, i am new to this site and cruising, i hope that there are not too many incidents of bad manners, would be a shame to be put off before i even step aboard. (although i would definately say something to somebody in the politest of manners if they acted inconsiderately) Jackie

Hi Jackie. We're very nice really, just get a bit cross sometimes with inconsiderate people. Welcome to the forum. I look forward to your views and experiences. Judith

    Hello Jackie,

I think you will find that there are bad mannered people everywhere! On land and at sea, it seems to be the way things are going. Our local supermarket being a prime example!

Whilst I have encountered some inconsiderate behaviour on ships, it's been far less than I have encountered on land!

Don't let it put you off, you may never witness it!

    Regards, Lizzie.

I sympathise and think that parent and baby spaces do not need to be particularly near the supermarket entrance. When my two were babies I needed to open the car door really wide to access them, and I wouldn't have minded to car parking space being away at the other side of the car park.

To me, the most important thing was being able to open the door wide enough that I didn't do my back in or damage another car. I sometimes parked in a 'quiet' part of the car park and pray that no-one would park next to me.

    cheers

I agree Mr Wingerowl from Chesterfield.
There was no need for Lizzie to get personal as your name has nothing to do with this conversation. ha ha ha
The fact of the matter is that there are some very rude people & some very inconsiderate people on cruise ships. As a avid people watcher I wonder, is it considered rude to barge past the inconsiderate "walk way hoggers"? I am sure we have all been there planning our overtake only to be thwarted at every approach.
Then there is the changing face of cruising with lots more familys squeezing into cabins. In March last year on the Ventura there were lots of very loud, very large familys who thought nothing of shouting across restaurants to each other & reserving the same 12 sunbeds each day (never fully used) under the watchful eye a overcooked matriarch who looked like she belonged on the set of East Enders as she shieked at anyone who came anyway near ....all very benidorm....not that I have ever been.
However this is not exclusive to cruising as this happened in "The One & Only" Hotel in Dubai latst month all we could here were loud London accents everywhere we went. What's with these people, why do they have to travel on mass & why are there voices 5 notches louder than anyone else? Plus they all fall out after a few drinks, you could actually watch the whole thing like a soap opera & the everyone else in the hotel new who was not talking to who & how much money they were worth , in fact there was not much we didn't know as they wiled away the hours shouting into their mobile phones to their business associates back home. I was ashamed to be British
he he he moan over.... for now

Yes, I do most of that, not the baby in the hot tub - but I do other things in there........

And you forgot deck chair or sunbed hogging. I like to put my stuff on one in the sun and one int he shade and then go to meals.
That's official then, you are an idiot.
