Tudor history and it's effects on the wider European courts at the moment!
Hmm. Makes my Samurai a bit mundane!

I too read Spartan's response as referring to himself. I thought it was quite obvious he was doing so.
As Wilba said earlier - this is an Internet forum and if you're going to participate then you've got to toughen up a bit. Believe me - this is a very mild and fairly polite forum. If you are at all sensitive don't give out sensitive personal information which if commented on may upset you. Remember, this forum is accessible by anyone, anywhere, with a computer.
If someone does upset you - bite back - it's all part of the fun. If that's not your style then just ignore it. It will be buried after a very short time with new posts and forgotten about.

    cheers

Harvey, I do not think that on any of my posts I said it had upset me, that is what was assumed by some, and seemed to get carried forward through the posts.

What was said was that it 'annoyed me' that members that post most frequently on the 'fun' topics were having their post ridiculed by some other members. It is no fun for anybody to have their posts described in an un-gentlemanly way - like I keep repeating myself by saying, 'if you dont like the topic dont read it' reading it and then calling it boring or drivel or other such like names, doesn't pay either the poster or reader any favours, and in my mind doesn't show any respect for the other person either. Anybody can think boring etc but those should have a little more respect for other perhaps less educated folk and keep it to themselves.

    Regards David

I'm so confused! been away from the site for a while and don't know what's been said/happening.
We've had so much fun with the posts, been a fairly happy gang with (mild) banter, gosh I miss the old days - lets get back to the fun and helpful forum where things can be taken with 'a pinch of salt'. I still enjoy it on here.
Off to try to learn Latin now....... big hugs and smiles to all

"Operor non permissum nothus homo frendo vos solum", which is correct Latin just doesn't have the same ring does it?

Literal translation - "do not let those without fathers grind you downwards."

Hi Judith, I said that to David the other day when I thought he was upset (I left out the bit about those without fathers). I think though that I was probably more upset on his behalf than he was. I must toughen up.

Long may this forum evolve and flourish. Jill

P.S. Am still very excited about Eclipse on 24/4.

We are all atheists about most of the gods that humanity has ever believed in. Some of us just go one god further.
