    Change to princess dining

Good afternoon all hope you are enjoying the sunshine.

I have received the following notification from Princess, it is a little vague but as soon as I receive more info I will keep you all updated:

    PRINCESS OFFICIAL NOTIFICATION
Traditional Dining seating is now available on various cruises. The new seating time at 5.30pm is in response to the high demand we've received for our 6.00pm seating and will be offered in a separate dining room.

If you wish to change your current dining selection to the new 5.30pm Traditional seating time, please speak to your Travel Agent you booked your cruise through, if booked directly with Princess please call 0845 3555 8000. Space is limited.

    Thanks

    Sam.

I thought I spotted the option of 5.30 dining when I was looking at a Princess cruise earlier. I did think it was rather early......just a bit too early I would think. I am really surprised that first sitting is so popular.

Dont know why they dont take a leaf out of Carnivals book and do what they do. A staggered first sitting at 6 or 6.30 and a second sitting of 8.15 or 8.45. Much more sensible times.

After a heavy meal at 5.30 then a few drinks, I can see them having an empty ship by 9.30 as everyone will think its time to retire to bed!

    Perhaps that's the cunning plan!

1st sitting is popular for those with young children. Perhaps they have more than their fair share on board and that is making 1st sitting very popular.

    Meal times

Having been on several Princess cruises I think this a sop to the US market as in my experience the first sitting is by far the most popular with our American cousins, even 6.15 was too late for some of oiur fellow travellers.

We met some Americans on a recent Princess cruise who liked to eat a full meal early and then top-up in the buffet later in the evening.
