You are not the only one who does that I get sent out by SWMBO to check it out so have a quick snoufter to make sure the bar works properly :D
Not only have you managed to use an abbreviation that might have made Rumpold go weak at the knees but I am sure that you have invented a new word: " to snoufter ". I love that, no futher explanation or dictionary definition is required. It says exactly what it means on the tin. ....Neil

An expression I love is 'snootful', as in 'I had a snootful in the bar last night'. I haven't had a snootful myself for a long time now, mind. Can't tolerate more than a couple of glasses these days.

Daughter said I should have said that! (When she'd stopped the laughing) But, EIGHT? If we had all got together other passengers would have thought we were part of the entertainment crew! Carol
Get together, form an a capella group and rake in the money!Cynthia

I love the formal nights and all the dressing up. I have bought a couple of dresses already, then I keep an eye out for any matching, jewellery, bags shoes and undies;)....I've not been on a P&O cruise before, but we're going on the Azura in October.....
We have cruised twice with Celebrity and we were on the second dining, I used to love having a glass of wine in the bar and watching the first lot of diners come out, some of the dresses were absolutely gorgeous, and the men looked very dashing too:o......

There were a few people wandering around the ship during the evening in shorts and flip flops, who looked a real mess and totally out of place, but I never saw any in the formal dining room.
Do you think they do it to be awkward?? or just different maybe, the ones we saw in shorts, usually had the biggest mouths you know, you heard them before you saw them.......And I think, you've spent all that money to be the odd one out!

Husband always wears a DJ, but he finds being trussed up a little uncomfortable. He says its alright for me in a thin strapless dress, but he feels like he's wearing a scarf and overcoat, but............I think he enjoys it as much as me:D He always finds the dining areas too warm, but he would go out in the snow in a t shirt!

"Do you think they do it to be awkward?" In my opinion, some people definitely do. Being awkward is human nature to some folk - on our last cruise we regularly did the jogging track circuit, walking as many laps as we could each day in a vain effort to keep off the pounds. There was a clearly designated anti-clockwise route, which everyone followed except one, very odd woman who joined the track at much the same time every day, a few minutes after us. Despite everyone else going anti-clockwise, she made a point of going clockwise, causing people to skirt round her constantly.

There is some very strange behaviour on the ones that do the circuits. A young couple on a FO. cruise ALWAYS had back packs on. Did they carry their worldly belongings? Did they not trust the cabin safe? It is great fun people watching. But I dread to think what people may say about us!. Regarding the clockwise woman, could she have been from down under? Water goes down the plughole clockwise there.(No offence to Christiann and others from the Southern hemisphere) Hope I am correct, I dont want to flushed away! I will grovel if I am wrong. Carol :D

    Mr and Mrs Packed Lunch

Really going off track here but I will always have a memory of a strange couple who we used to meet regularly in various parts of which ever town/city we were in and whenever we saw them they were sitting on a step of a special place or ruin and were eating sandwiches which they made up religiously each day in the ships cafeteria.
We were not the only ones to remark about them and they became known thoughout the ship as Mr and Mrs Packed Lunch. .....Neil

I believe she was South American, though I will add that they still follow the anti-clockwise convention on running tracks in Australia and New Zealand.

I'm looking forward to my first cruise, and know I will enjoy dressing up for dinner. However, if others do not conform, I hope I won't let it spoil my holiday. It never bothers me if I've dressed up for the theatre and others don't.

Watch this space. I may feel differently afterwards!
