    Dress code

We cruise mainly with P&O and are concerned that dress code in the dining rooms are not enforced. Cruisers are entering wearing T shirts and jeans and still being allowed to dine. On our last cruise on the Artemis this trend was particularly noticeable. What are your views?

My view is quite simple: Cruise lines should state their policy; customers should accept the policy; cruise lines should enforce the policy. As I said - simple! ;)

Did you complain there and then to the Maitre D', if nothing more than to cause him embarrassment, preferably within listening distance of the scruffs?
I would, and have done so on a different line.

Just another example of falling standards Wilba. I too would have drawn the attention of the Maitre'd to the situation. If P&O want all their ships to decend to the apparent level of Ventura I'll give thema miss. It will be interesting to see what happens on Azura. Judith

Totally agree with what you say and would emphasise cruise lines should enforce the policy otherwise things slide.

Most people enjoy the odd night of dressing up so why should the few spoil it for the many?

I cannot understand why people book a cruise on a line with formal nights then complain about dressing for dinner.
If they don't like it book another line that is more to their taste or use the buffet they are missing out on a great dinning experience and spoiling it for people who enjoy the special occasion.
I think the cruise ship should have to compensate all of the passengers who have paid for a cruise with formal nights if they allow someone into the restaurant who is improperly dressed say £10.00 pp
They would soon sort it out then. :D

That's a very reasonable fine and it could go to charity.

So who is going decide and enforce this rule ? Should be quite entertaining just to be an observer .
