Work! What's that? I took early retirement last month and it's wonderful - especially as I don't have to worry about getting to and from the office in this very picturesque weather. :D)/QUOTE]

Now that is the first time you have ever said anything that makes me feel bad getting to work in the snow
it must be nice to look at your toes in the morning and say not today lads pull them back under the covers and shut your eyes and say sod the snow ;) :D
I retired last year and it is wonderful.................... not having to struggle into work ,although we are going to attempt our country roads (3 miles to the main!) today as we need supplies! Hope there is some chocolate left!

I want to lose a stone & half before our cruise, but I've given myself a year and a bit to lose if (we don't cruise til March 2011), but again I'm not really into this exercise lark!!! So here'e hoping I reach my target.

Hi there does anyone else go on a diet before going cruising...
That does not make sense. 'Dieting after cruising', now there's a more popular topic!

[QUOTE=Aplmac, Barbados;21335][COLOR="Black"]Apart from the (quite reasonable)portion sizes allotted, per course
I've discovered a second good reason for eating in the dining rooms whenever possible..
and that is hygiene, and tummy-bug avoidance! ;)

I'm sure you are right, but my favourite cruise destination is Norway and one really needs to be on deck to appreciate the scenery. We have been very lucky and not had the dreaded norovirus onboard - yet. Do you think it is more common than it used to be or just getting more publicity?

I have just checked your statement with "your wonderfulness" she said that it is correct
Given a choice of a chocolate or me the chocolate wins.
Perhaps that is why they don’t put chocolates on the pillow any more. ;) :D
of course the statment is correct!!!!!!!!!!!! :p
so were you one of the men that signed the 'remove the chocolates from the bed' petition?

don't want to work, just want to cruise.

Would anyone like to start a diet with me on January 1? I'd like to lose about 1.5 stones. Not more than that as otherwise I'd have to replace all last summer's cruising clothes.

I did go to WW once and it worked quite well but then the leader left and was replaced by a woman who was bossy so I didn't bother going back.

BTW, exercise doesn't feature big in my plan.

How are you getting on with the Diet Liz? It's now May - were you successful? I'm on the Weightwatchers diet too - I watch it go up and then I watch it go down........

Its not fair my two sisters are slim. Im like my mum was, she always said she wanted thick hair and a slim body but got it the other way round. My sister Joan promised me £700 pounds if I could lose 3 stone [ thats about 18 kgs] but I still cant get the motivation. Anybody got any tips? Mary

I've now lost three stone from my heaviest ever weight & half a stone (7lbs for Aplmac) has been since we got of Magnifica ~ I'm now just over 10 stone (140lbs)

It's been easy ~ I sold my restaurant, hubby no longer cooking creamy dreamy sauces that I have to wipe out of the pan with home baked bread, no more cakes that might go off if left till tomorrow, but even more beneficial no more "just another glass" whilst sat talking to customers instead I'm at home drink Vimto & coffee till at least 10pm.

I love chocolate but only plain ~ can't see the point in the vegetable fat ridden stuff we english call chocolate, I drink real ale when I'm out but at home moderation is everything ~ tonight for tea I had real cottage pie topped with cheese & butter and chips but tomorrow I'll have something light a caprese salad or such ~ it's balancing act so that you have what you enjoy without feeling guilty thta you had anything!

Shell(~ miracles may happen I may end up back at 9 stone (126lbs):D)

We are all atheists about most of the gods that humanity has ever believed in. Some of us just go one god further.
