Thanks for the posting on how to upload a You tube video. I will try this as I have a few videos.
Re. the storms, we had a cracker here yesterday. The sea was really rough and it was very very windy. Ripped my car port apart and the gazebo. We get what is known as the Coptic Gales, or the East Mediterranean Gales here in Cyprus and they arrive every year on more or less the same dates and occur thirteen times a year. They come from the Sahara Desert and bring brown sand which is dumped on everything and lots of rain and wind storms.
We are due a big one on the 18th February so must baton down the hatches again, this next one is known as EL SHAMS EL SEGHURA and is a strong gale.
I was in Gibraltar in October 2008. arrived a couple of days after the gale force 11 storm. The cruise terminal was damaged, but we were not on a cruise at the time.
The cargo ship, "New Flame "had sunk and broke into two at Europa Point. We were taken there by our host to see the damage and the salvage operations which were hampered by heavy storms.
Never underestimate the power of the sea..

It was a rough night I woke up as the bottles ect on the dressing table fell on the floor and staggered across our cabin to stow everything we diverted to Ceuta you should have heard the moaning the next day about missing Gibraltar. We had a lovely day in the port although not much was open.
The next port was Casablanca what a hole, the poor crew had to listen to the winging passengers for a couple of days then on the screen near the little shop on the Spirit they showed film of the damage to the Gibraltar terminal, the wreck and the sea wall that focused a few minds and all was peace and love again the Captain was no longer the fool but a hero. Spirit is an old girl with an experienced skipper at the helm.

Especially if with a high British contingent, oh and weather? Should keep them going for at least week!

Queen Mary 2... On deck 3 ..16th Aug 08 , Southampton - New York "Force 12" Storm, but have a look at my coffee cup ,Not a ripple .....Hows that for QM2 Stability ??

Hi, Gosh that is truly amazing, which deck were you on? Have never travelled on a Queen Ship yet, but am looking at them as crossing the Atlantic, I feel you need to be on a stable ship and these certainly look so. Which one would you say is your favourite?PS The jigsaw puzzle? was it yours or belonging to the Ship? and did you finish it? Happy sailing on the Eclipse too.

Now have you ever stood in a queue of Brits?
They all moan to each other in a loud voice but not to the people who can do something about it! :D

Oh that's fantastic coz so true. I frankly have got more direct as I got older. If I am not happy just tell 'em! Especially if you have paid a lot of it - like a cruise!
