Passengers aboard the Costa Concordia have been offered €11,000 (£9,184) compensation for lost baggage and psychological trauma after the ship deviated from its route, hit a rock and capsized.

If you were one of the thousands that got off safely, not a bad offer I think..

Psycological Trauma cannot be measured in money, many will suffer for the rest of their lives because of the disaster.Personal items lost are a different matter but unlikely that Costa will seperate the 2 and are desperate to get rid of their liabilities.Personally, and subject to circimstances I would pursue the compensation claim through the courts, but only after a time as could be determined there was no lasting affect on health issues. For a one off settlement at this time a reasonable amount of £200,000 plus costs would maybe be acceptable.

    Hi coolcruiser.
    I agree,,,its a paltry amount.
What is it? £3m,thats the CEO's pocket money.
Carnival will start at the lowest offer it can, with fingers crossed it will be accepted.
Can you even imagine the claims if this had happened in a USA port.
