    Where did the time go?

Now come on Stan, I put the leathers away a long time ago, frames Stan? I only knew the names because I helped clean them!!I suppose you could say the icing on the cake was the bike and I was the cake, although I liked to think of myself as a rock chick back then, where did the time go!!
I remember watching Eastenders once and Dot Cotton said "when you get older the days go slowly but the years go by quickly"

    Camping holidays

Great to hear someone else loves camping hols. We do too although it is now in a fully luxury type ie caravan with all the comforts. Getting too old for the tent afraid. We love going away in our caravan and love the life, simple and free (even when raining). We are hoping to get a 5th wheeler eventually, sell the house and travel a while, plus the old cruise in between. We love both types of holidays. Just need the weather in UK this summer hopefully. Grandchildren come too. They are happy with football pitch and plenty friends to play with plus room for bikes etc. Dont hear a peep out of them and they sleep like logs after a day outdoors. Happy camping and happy cruising.

All my five children grew up camping in a tent, and we had great times, as you say lots of fresh air and games.

All grown up now and they take their children camping as well, we to take our grandchildren away for caravan camping holidays and they love it, if you've not camp'ed you've missed out.

camping would be my idea of hell....sorry, caravaning is OK. my parents had a static caravan in Silloth in Cumbria for many years. my daughters and I had some great holidays there. but I prefer a wee bit of luxury now hotel or cruising. I enjoy both the ship and the ports of call. however if I had to choose I think the ports would be the most important to me but hubbie prefers the ship the bigger the better. he like it if he is on the biggest ship in port.......a man thing me thinks! I have cruised mainly the east/west med, caneries, and the Baltics but would love to cruise further afield but have to wait till we can afford it. as long as I can cruise somewhere I am happy. :D

don't want to work, just want to cruise.

Loved camping in a tent when we did it 30 years ago, would'nt do that now though.

Same goes for me Issy as far as cruises go I have done pretty much the same as you. as far as 'bigger the better' it does'nt apply to me, but I do remember our first cruise we were in dock behind the Costa Fortuna and I remember getting off and saying to the OH "Our ships bigger than yours" refering to the Costa ship. :D

Cruising is a beautiful sloowww blend of both sweet ship
and interesting destinations to satisfy our curiosities
and that is as it should be -different strokes for different folks!

Seems we all cruise for pretty much the same reason/s
to get away from home in a way that forces us to travel slowly
as we pull away from the dock, inches at a time.

Our last land fades away over the horizon, as it did for ancient mariners
and by morning, here comes a new one, out of the mists on the horizon.

    Whatever your thinking, your reason
just book the next cruise and enjoy whatever aspect floats your boat.
    Literally.

    .
Aplmac that is the most beautiful description of cruising I have ever read.
