I think irrespective of how it got there it is the resposibility of the cruise line to clean surfaces to a standard that gets rid of it. It is not practical for all pssengers to wash their hands after touching any surface & some of us can't get around without using handles & rails.

Its not that bad, just carry the sanitizer in your pocket or bag..the ships do clean. It is the passengers who do not stay in the cabin when they are sick or do not wash their hands who spread it eeewh!!

I have been cruising since 1975 (not continually!!!) I have never got Noro or anything worse than a cough onboard...onshore thats another story.

    Hi JC

I'm surprised you can manage to eat dinner after a guiness - I always find it quite a filling drink.

My grandmother used to swear by it as an aid to digestion.;)

    Cruising my way through life!

    Hi Sue
    I can drink Guinness before/during/after a meal.LOL.I think i must be a "chav".
I am afraid i hate wine unless its Yates White Wine in the Wine Lodge.:D.A Dock White as we say in Liverpool.
Do you remember when they used to give you a bottle of stout in hospital after an operation.

I do indeed JC. In fact when I was pregnant in 1969 I was encouraged to drink stout because I was anemic. Can you imagine the NHS attitude on that now

Wine now I love it, but years ago in Glasgow when only 'chavs' drank wine the pubs offered it in 'dork or light'!:D

Stout is supposed to have a high iron content - not sure if this is true or hype!

Apparently they used to give it to people after they'd given blood but alas, in my time all that has been on offer is a cup of tea.

    Cruising my way through life!

In a hospital were I worked in the 1960's stoat was given in the evenings, as they said it helped build up weight as it was full of nutrients. Did not need to check if this medication was taken as there was no complaints with this one. I bet it beats the complan of today.:p
