Questions which cannot be answered correctly!

Hi I am very tolerant of the questions posted on this site by Newbie’s although many of these could be answered more quickly if they accessed the cruise line's own web site. However, I do despair at the number of times people ask what will the weather be in "x" months in destination "y" and will the seas be rough. People of this forum are knowledgeable and do their best to help but as far as I am aware none are psychic

I know I will be flamed but I think a lot of newbies ask the questions because they are lazy. I do not encourage laziness.

Alan... Knew you would ask that question .....Pyschic Carol

Annie.. Yes there are easy ways to find the answers, but it is a super way of introducing themselves to the forum and getting chatting and hopefully joining in.

Sorry - before I booked my 1st cruise - I researched several forums, web-sites. I never sought advice - that came after my 3rd/4th cruise maybe? and not very often.

Sure I have asked a specific question re Caribbean - and I was told fairly do your research. I have answered a fair few questions on several forums.

It is similar to some of you good folk who act as Cruise Specialists for friends/families - folk do not want to do the research or take the responsibility for making decisions.

Carol - following the 80/20 rule - I doubt they will become active members of the forum. Hey I am not that active a member - but I still feel an outsider because I am not a Cunarder or P&O follower.

I agree but disagree. I agree that some questions like what will the weather be like and will the sea be rough can easily by googled for past statistics etc.
But on the other hand its nice to get first hand experience from people who have been there and done that.

I think its more reassurance that they are after. It may well be that say for example you expect the weather to be cold in the Fjords but people who have cruised can and will tell you to expect anything and be prepared for all seasons.

Like wise - will the sea be rough. Well answers can be extended to reassure someone that it may not be that bad - the ships are big and can handle the rough seas. What to take for seasickness etc.

So I for one still enjoy reading and answering what may appear to some as petty questions.

This forum is a great way of benefiting from other peoples experiences. You are always able to get advice, suggestions and a general overview of most cruising subjects..
