I'm a new cruiser & love to break rules. How dare cruise lines rip us off with their booze policies & extortionately priced shore excursions. Smuggle & have fun.

As far as they were concerned, she had broke the rules, although she wasnt aware of the ruling, and they had the right under the terms and conditions. Would be interested to hear if anyone else got booze back. My friend said nobody did as far as she was aware. This was an out of America cruise not UK.

Fifty people trying to smuggle alcohol onto the ship? - It's no wonder some cruise lines check luggage. Selling drinks at exorbitant prices to people who need the stuff makes a lot of money and helps keep the price of cruises down for the rest of us. Perhaps RC should have sold the same booze back to the passengers - after adding a hefty charge of course! ;)

That was fifty that they knew about, there was about 300 that got away with it, majority were foreigners not all british. I may point out that she did not intentionally smuggle drink, it was a gift and because she couldnt bring it through the airport it had to go in the case otherwise she would have had it in her handluggage as she didnt think she was doing anything wrong. RC would have sold it back as I have never known them miss an opportunity.
