Kettles in Staterooms Queen Mary 2. + Formal Nights

Can anyone advise as to whether there are kettles in the Stateroom on the QM2.

Second question: any idea how many formal nights on the 6/7 day cruise from Southampton to New York and New York to Southampton.Couldn't find anything about it on their site?

Just booked a last minute cruise, have never sailed with Cunard before so a whole new experience!! to add to the list!:D

    Thanks

There are no kettles in the staterooms, I'm afraid.

We've done the six-night crossing both ways, and as far as I remember there were two formal nights each time.

Can't fix the only warm not hot bit, but you could take your own bags and increase the strength after it is deliveredCarol

Seacosters your in for a real treat ! This is the QM2, The most famous ocean liner in the world and no lukewarm water here for your tea.;) The water comes boiling in a very nice thermos jug with the tea bags on the side ,you can make it weak or strong as you like

As for the formal nights, expect up to 4 on a 7 day crossing or 3 on a 6 day crossing. All info will be sent to you in advance but remember you can never be overdressed on the QM2.:D

I seem to recall that QM2 splits it into smart casual, semi formal and formal - and there are two of each.

I loved the QM2 and have done it both ways. Make sure you are up very early when you sail into NY under the Verizzano Bridge - it was magical coming in at that time of the morning.

And another tip, the pub gets incredibly busy at lunchtime - we used to get in there at about half ten and sit and have coffee, read our books, do the quiz and then listen to the lunchtime music which was quite often jazz. A nice way to relax.

Just to add to Paul's early rave, the room service onboard QM2 is excellent. If you require tea or coffee as you awake just call 'room service'. It will be there in minutes. Otherwise, if you wish to be awakened with tea or coffee, leave your card on your stateroom door with the required beverage and time. As Paul says, you are in for a treat. Bon voyage. Richard

Ah, I used to get my wife to do that while I went to the lectures. Then you see other passengers having their 'Pub' lunches and you want one. Hard call when you are travelling in the Grills. Nice memories and not long now for the repeat.
