Whilst NCL's Epic celebrates a lavish inauguration on 4 July in New York, Holland America's new ship Nieuw Amsterdam will be named in a glittering ceremony of its own - in Venice.
Both events promise to be fantastic - but if you were lucky enough to be invited to both - which one would you choose?
In Venice, Nieuw Amsterdam will be christened by Princess Maxima of the Netherlands.
In New York, the 153,000 ton liner will host Macy's 34th Annual 4th of July Fireworks event.

Venice has to be one of the most stunning views from the top of a cruise ship.

I don't really fancy a cruise on Epic because of those bathrooms
but I would like to see the 4th July fireworks in NY. :D
Holland America ships hold more appeal for me, but I have been to Venice so many times, so that's why I chose Epic in NY.

The ship of choice would be with Holland America Amsterdam even though I would be torn with New York..........Wilba

It's Holland America for me as well. Seeing those cabins put me off choosing Epic. Looking at travelling in the future with HA as they look really good.

No contest
It just has to be the class of HAL in Venice.
Epic has had enough trouble with fireworks anyway. ....Neil

No question for me the Nieuw Amsterdam in Venice. I have been looking at possibility of a cruise on this ship and it sounds stunning, far more elegant and refined than Epic and Venice is a must see view from any Cruise Ship.
