I don't particular want fly cruises if I can help it! Although the weather in home waters and the Bay of Biscay can be dodgy even in summer, and we have to wait three days to get to the sun, I love being at sea full stop! I don't really care where I go, the longer I spend actually at sea the better. So far we have experienced force 10 gales on several occasions - twice to and from Spitzbergen and once actually in the Adriatic!!! And I loved every minute of it!
I don't particularly want fly-cruises either. I'm prepared to put up with a bit of rough weather to avoid the airport experience. We've also suffered the gales to and from Svalbard, but this year spent eight hours 'parked' in a fjord just outside Bergen waiting for a reported force 14 to subside. I didn't know force 14 existed outside the Caribbean!
I'm very interested in the new Adonia though. It sounds just right for us.

I'm with Dancer on this one. I loved life at sea, there was so much to do on Oceana for 3 days before we got to Madeira last October.

I think its great that there will be more choice and that some ships will stay in Europe through the winter. I'll be looking for a winter cruise to the Canaries after going on Ventura 10 April 2010.

I would be lovely to know what the single supplements were likely to be.

Quote 'The introduction of fly cruising is an exciting step forward' - P&O did fly cruising to the Med in the 1990's and early 2000's on the lovely old Victoria. This enabled us to cruise into the Black Sea on one occasion and as far as Aqaba, via the Suez, on another, the latter culminating in an earthquake in Eilat which really shook the Victoria as well as the port of Aqaba!

Also P&O have announced that you will be able to pre-book flight seats 12 weeks before departure. Think this will be a good move by P&O.

Don't know,a bit disappointed that they said fly/cruise for 2011, but all the itineraries for 2011 for Europe are all leaving from Southampton, nothing about fly/cruise. Its not that we don't like cruising, just that it may be cheaper and not take as long to actually get to the places you want to visit.
