Mrs M - you are a stranger in these parts. Did you get a PM inviting you here! I am sure you have! Seems to much of a coincidence that you would visit the games threads and particularly this one just at this time especially as you are thinking of your zzzzzzzzzzz's.

Now there is one flaw in your equatiion. You have said A = B = C => A = C. From above you are stating that
    z = zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
clearly this cannot be the case!

A picture speaks a 1000 words - this may help or maybe not!

    Ha Ha... only one flaw!

In answer to your question, Nope. I can absolutely, categorically say no pm [I can see if admin would confirm if it's wildly important to you]...and neither am I stranger on these game threads. Just because I have no desire to contribute, doesn't mean to say I don't look in. In fact, I find them extremely interesting...

Now, forgive me, but I wasn't aware that just because I've had a very busy day, which ended in a duplicate bridge session which, as every bridge player knows, requires a period of mindless 'downtime' in order for the brain to reach the same exhausted state as the body [I'm getting old], any participatory activity on a thread which suited my needs at that time would be deemed 'a coincidence'. You presume too much.

You went to veterinary college, my tertiary education didn't progress further than teacher training and I have no way of knowing if your data is correct or b... s..t., but I'm sure one or two members are in the same state of ignorance as myself. So if all your data whatsit goes right over my head, it does for a few others too.

Oh and your picture may speak a thousand words...but not in a language I understand unfortunately.

    1. right mouse click on the picture you like ( you get a menu)
    2. left mouse click "save picture as ...."
    3. save the picture on your computer and remember where it is

    to get an avatar:-

1.left click on you name at the top middle of the screen
2 left click on "forum actions" in the blue bar on your screen ( a menu appears)
    3 left click "edit profile"
4 left click "edit avatar" in the "my settings " box on the left of the screen
5 left click "use custom avatar"
6 left click "browse" on option 2
7 find your picture , left click on it so it is highlighted, then click "open"
8 left click " save changes

Only thing is Mrs M., I didn't present any data, just a logistic regression model. It is Lizzie who has the data - apparently!

I thought all modern third level courses included some level of statistics - then again - you have said it already - you are old!

Well there you go. I stand corrected, but you see, I'm so old that anything that has any whiff of a seemingly algebraic function [and especially with a pretty picture] is, to my mathematically uneducated brain, associated with data. When used on a cruise forum and when it baffles little old me, I have to grin. It does get the old BS radar working.

I didn't venture past GCE Maths [thank god] and have forgotten most of that too. MY tertiary education included extensive grammar, the teaching of reading, psychology, philosophy etc and many other skills I needed in order to get a teaching position. Then I learnt to teach!!!

Hopefully some of the children I taught to read went on to college and you never know, one of them may even have become a vet.

I always make sure my pupils are aware there is no shame in using or acknowledging the use of a dictionary...

Oh dear Tomvet. What part of 'seemingly' is difficult to understand. Whatever...enough. I've got an important Bridge match.

I promise not to look on the games thread for my mindless winding down activity tonight.
