    Breakfast with Stan and May.

Well,I'm out of the "Sin Bin",like Bobbybuoy,to the extent that May brought me Breakfast in Bed this morning,so it's much of the same really, without the overlay that the word "bed" gives to the double entendres(now a thing of the past).I did wonder though, for a brief moment when May brought the breakfast tray in ,if she had slipped back into her old ways!A little card on the tray said "To my Mister Stud"; but what with me not having my specs on,and May's scrawly writing and poor spelling,it actually said "to mr.Misunderstud".Anyway, the subject we enjoined this morning was SCAMS,as a result of a phone call that I received on Saturday. The call came from a "Central London" call centre,in Bangalore, informing me of my rights to redress/compensation under recent new Govt. legislation regarding PPI(Payment Protection Insurance),which can invalidate all sorts of credit agreements! The Asian sounding caller said that she was speaking on behalf of several british banks, mentioning Lloyds TSB and Barclays by name, and despite my protestations that this change in the law had no relevance to me personally,as i have not signed a credit agreement for many years, neither have I had a loan or a morgage(the things she suggested may be relevant),she persisted in asking me ,which method of payment would I prefer ,upon receipt of my "compensation",ie.cheque or direct into my bank!! ,and therefore would require my a/c No. Then I hung up! It's a CON...beware.mmmm that bacon sarny was lovely May.Scambuster Stan:D

These scam-mongers are always looking for new ways to get money or your credit details off you. One last year was a postal one saying that they had tried to deliver a parcel and had to ring a high rate number to get the parcel. I checked with trading standards and was told it was a scam going round and thanked me for letting them know of the latest scam. I am always deleting e-mails marked up as coming from banks as I have informed my bank never to e-mail me as it will be deleted. I was then told they never e-mail their customers.

We've had a repeat scam, supposed to be about someone who works for the church abroad, to say he's been arrested, and needs bail money. The first time it came, we rang his phone, and he was back in the UK......

Nice to see you are forgiven, May is a wonderful woman We recently had a call from a similar person regarding an insurance claim for a car accident she kept telling us we could get a lot of money for injuries, I just couldn't get through to her that the car was parked and empty at the time of the incident In the end I asked her to hold while I found the details not sure how long she waited, I carried on with the gardening.
